Things are going beautifully. Lucy and Nathan play now till their exhausted. Lucy is so so so sweet. She massages my soul:-). She is crate training well. Very few accidents. Responds better each day to a calm elevating voice command or newspaper like noise. The house is running well.  Very intelligent. Not very destructive nor does she seem to want to destroy. I look her in the eyes. Today I noticed her looking into mine. She is healing me after so much loss. I am devoted to her training!  Rain shine 5pm or 5am. Have her on the Canidae All Life Stages. Just wanted to share the good news. Her features are so beautiful. Having had two prior bassets I must compliment you on the just plain out awesome attributes she possesses that form her strong integral bread characteristics    Bless you & Peace.

Floyd Ernest came into our home on January 22.We are simply thrilled with Floyd. He very smart, easy to train…and a huge love bug.He is personality plus. When folks ask us where we got him…we highly recommend your bassets. He is 7 months now and 50 pounds.I cannot tell you how wonderful he is…and you should be proud of the pups you produce. We may want another in the future.
Best to you and your staff

The pups are awesome!! Joanna is just the most amazing beautiful soul. We truly love her dearly. Its so hard to believe she’s already 8 years old!! Benjamin is a wildman. His eyes are good, he can see and the eye pressure is better than it was a year ago. He really is a piece of work!! And Jessie…well she is a total, total princess. Yikes!!! She’s our baby-girl. Jethro, the border collie, takes care of all of us!! I call the guy-duo of Ben and Jethro, Indy and Shortround. Ben is definitely Jethro’s side-kick!! They are a riot together!

I think about you and Tait’s so often and we feel truly blessed that JoJo is in our lives. She still does that howl when she wants something. It turns out her son, Boomer in Boston, does the same thing that Joanna does. Only Ellen says it reminds her of mooing!!L.G. – Maryland

We wanted to follow up and let you know that we had a safe ride back to Maine yesterday.  Our Basset (Walter) was absolutely perfect and slept most of the way home in the back with Kristine and Josie.  He got a little restless when we got in Massachusetts, so we stopped and let him go to the bathroom and gave him a little water.  So he made it back to his new home in Maine without a single issue.

He has settled in very well in just the short time he has been introduced to our home.  He cried very little last evening and slept the entire night until 5:00am when we woke up this morning.  He is eating, playing without little girls and our older dog Stella, and already getting used to an outside routine going to the bathroom and ringing the bells with his paw when we take him out.

We can’t say enough about the positive experience we had with you and the quality of Walter.  It seems like the few extra weeks he was there with you have really given him a significant head start in being ready to leave the kennel.  I would have to agree with your decision to let them leave at 12 weeks instead of 8.  He just seems further along than we would have anticipated and we are so glad that you brought him out for us to consider…..he is perfect.

You will laugh, but we are already talking about another journey back to Happy Valley to get our next Basset from you.  We are blown away by the breed and the quality of your dogs that we were so fortunate to experience yesterday morning.  We think having two in our family would be perfect, so hopefully you will hear from us again over the next year and we can start the process all over again.  For now we will focus on getting Walter adjusted to his new home and we will be in touch in the future.

Thanks again for everything and have a good week.

1/15/2018It doesn’t seem possible that a year ago yesterday we picked up our precious Oliver and arrived home with him a year ago today. He has been such a joy even during his “puppy” moments. He adores his big brother, Milo, and his big sister, Tallulah. It’s uncanny how many of Milo’s mannerisms Oliver has adopted. He MUST have a pillow for sleeping. Ha. Tallulah doesn’t ever use a pillow but both boys do. If Oliver goes outside, Milo goes and vice versa. We had a couple of inches of snow on Friday. We were anxious to see how Oliver would respond. We could not keep him in the house (we have a doggy door). He ran and furrowed his nose and jumped. He ran under bushes and came out covered. He would come in to warm up then back out.  Milo and Tallulah were right there with him.It is impossible to thank you all enough for the amazing Bassets that your breed but we do thank you so much.

Good morning!

One year ago today my father and I took a ride up to PA and got a puppy from y’all, I just wanted to drop y’all a line and say that McGrupp (aka Gruppy or grupster)  is one of the sweetest, cutest, friendliest, most playful dogs I have ever owned. He is doing very well learning to behave in the house around children and the other dogs. He comes to work with me every day and I have customers that come to my shop specifically to get one of his big slobbery kisses. He is a total chowhound but we are making sure his weight stays at an acceptable level and still make sure he only eats the grain free treats and food as y’all recommended. Overall just wanted to say that he is happy and healthy and thank you for breeding such great dogs! you guys are doing a great job!

1/2016-7/2019 (comments attached to pictures sent to us of Rufus over the years)

Very sweet and playful.

Rufus has been wonderful. He’s becoming a very calm, relaxed guy inside and a very spirited boy outside. And, he loves the snow and cold weather.

He’s still amazing, stubborn and wonderful.

Getting cuter every day. Happy New Year. Rufus is still enchanting.

Rufus is still perfect. New mischief every day.
